Welcome to the Katydids!

Goals and Objectives:

To provide a nurturing environment that encourages preschool children to explore, create, and interact while developing a sense of autonomy and initiative.
To meet each child's physical needs.
To implement health and wellness strategies.
To provide opportunities for exploring, learning, and social interaction.
To prepare activities with an understanding of child development principles and guidelines.
To provide opportunities for the use of large and small motor skills with both indoor and outdoor activities
To be sensitive to practices in the home and to be as consistent as possible across settings.

To be supportive of parents, encouraging involvement, education, and open, honest communication while respecting privacy.

SCELC uses the Early Childhood Rating Scale, as a tool to ensure a high quality learning environment in our classrooms.
Each teacher works with the curriculum coordinator to plan activities that meet the needs of the children. Lesson plans are completed weekly.
